Alyssa DiPadova

Mental Health Counselor-Limited Permit

I believe that healing happens…

In a safe, supportive space-

A space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered-

A space where you move forward at your own pace.

I’m an EMDR-trained therapist with a person-centered, trauma-informed approach.

My goal is to provide you relief from your stressors and help you succeed in reaching your goals.

I am dedicated to providing you a safe space to do the hard and necessary work to live your best, most fulfilling life.

Alyssa, what are your biggest tools used in therapy?

  • Attunement

  • Curiosity

  • Collaboration

  • Flexibility

  • Grounded Presence

3 Steps to Getting Started With Therapy:

1.

First, a consultation call.  You can reach out for a consultation call by clicking the button at the top of the menu.  During this call we discuss why you are reaching out and if we are a good fit.

2.

If we both agree to move forward, then I send you a link to your own personal client portal with necessary paperwork and a general intake form.  If you are struggling to fill it out, or need support in doing so, we can also work on them together during the first session.

3.

The first session will be a continuation of getting to know you, your goals and devising a treatment plan together of how we are going to work towards achieving your goals. We will continue to check in with those goals and adjust them if needed!

I’ve always been deeply curious about people...

Their stories, strengths, and what helps them grow.

Why did I become a therapist?

Becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of my curiosity, paired with a desire to support others through meaningful change. I genuinely believe in people’s capacity to grow and heal, and I find it incredibly rewarding to walk alongside them in that process.

My main treatment modalities are:

  • EMDR

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Strengths-Based Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

EMDR online

I use EMDR and other evidence-based tools such as person-centered, strengths-based, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients work through trauma, navigate life transitions, and reconnect with their strengths.

What are your qualifications?

I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Queens College and have specialized training in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which I use to help clients process difficult or traumatic experiences. I continue to deepen my clinical skills through ongoing education, consultation, and reading.

What do you enjoy doing outside of therapy?

I enjoy making time for creativity and movement. I love strength training, getting outside for long walks, and spending quality time with my family. I also enjoy getting creative in the kitchen and cooking a good veggie-forward recipe. I unwind with mystery and thriller novels, and I have a longstanding fascination with true crime. Staying active, present, and connected helps me bring energy and balance to both my personal and professional life.

What do you wish for the clients you work with?

I hope my clients come to know themselves with greater compassion, strength, and clarity. Whether they’re healing from past experiences or navigating something new, I want them to feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout the process.
